This is not just another hotel
In every other national park in India you stay outside the jungle and drive in for a few hours of safari. There is only one place where you actually live inside the forest. At Dhikala you can literally stay 30 km deep inside the wild.
Welcome to the Dhikala Forest Rest House, set in the middle of the dense forest of Jim Corbett, right on the bank of the river. Here you do not visit the jungle for a short window and leave. You fall asleep in it and wake up in it, and if you are lucky you might spot tigers and elephants right from your room.

This is not a usual hotel stay. It is a 24 hour adventure. Through the day, herds of hundreds of deer, families of elephants and the occasional tiger pass in front of you. In the evening you sip your chai on a balcony protected by electric fencing, surrounded by the alarm calls of deer, the chirping of birds and, once in a while, the roar of a tiger.
From your window you look out over the Ramganga Reservoir and the massive grassland of the Dhikala Chaur. The rooms were built in the British era and have been recently renovated for comfort, with hot water and warm, tasty meals served through the day at the forest canteen.
Dhikala is home to more than 500 bird species along with elephants, sloth bears, crocodiles and otters, all in one stunning landscape. The catch is availability.
